Please be hydrated prior to your session for optimum results, and let us know if you have taken any prescription or over the counter pain medication in the 4 hours prior as well. 

 

Your treatment will start with a brief conversation and assessment to discuss your concerns. Your therapist may occasionally ask questions to help guide treatment. 

Your therapist will create a treatment plan and home care (stretches/exercises) with you, and will offer a suggestion of how soon to return for follow up treatment. .  Please review our Cancellation and Late Policy below.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored: 24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment. 

LATE ARRIVAL

POLICY

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time. We look forward to serving you!

1. Will medical massage really help me with my condition?

 Our therapists have success with most cases that involve the muscle-skeletal system. We are able to help our patients where they have tried many other types of health care modalities that were not able to offer them any relief. Our approach is unique and different even when you compare it to other massage techniques, chiropractic, physical therapy or pharmacologically based treatment. Aren't you tired of not finding a solution to your pain? Aren't you tired of consistently having to medicate yourself to receive any relief?

02. How long does a Medical Massage session last?

Our Medical Massage therapy treatments tend to last about an 90-Minutes.

03. What are our payment options? 

 We accept Master Card, Visa, American Express and corporate checks for company-sponsored programs. Terms may be provided for repeat customers. Cash, credit card and personal checks are accepted for all employee-paid programs at the time of service.

04. What will the massage or bodywork feel like?

Your massage session will start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.  If you opt for energy work with your massage, you may feel warmth, tingling, or coolness emanating from the practitioner's hands and sometimes they will stop for a moment to allow the energy to flow.  A hypoallergenic lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The lotion also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting..

05. Why is it so important to drink water after a massage?

Massage therapy assists your body in releasing toxins or harmful metabolic by-products that are pushed out of your body’s cells. These are some of the same by-products that make you feel sore after a workout, for example. Drinking water after receiving massage therapy & bodywork is vital to help your body flush these toxins out of your system. This is especially important if you do not receive regular massage therapy.

06. What causes knots in muscle?

 The hard knotty areas of muscle occur when the muscle fibers and fascia bind up and stick together forming adhesions, thereby disallowing fresh oxygen-rich blood to come into that area and trapping the metabolic wastes in the tissue. The metabolic wastes burn your tissues like an acid, causing pain and inflammation. These "knots" can also lead to potential injury, especially when combined with tightened or restricted muscles. Imagine tying a knot in a rubber band and then stretching it, the knot hinders the bands ability to perform its function.

07. What should I expect at my first in-home massage?

When I arrive we'll find a place to set up the massage table (or chair). Free floor space of at least 6' X 9' is required. While you complete a short health history form, I set up my equipment such as table, supplies, and relaxing music. When completed, we'll discuss any issues you may be having, as well as your goals such as relaxation, pain relief, etc., which will help design your individualized treatment plan. During your massage you are more than welcome to ask questions or provide feedback at any time. If at any time you desire lighter/deeper pressure, more/less focus on any area, or have any other concerns, please let me know. When your session is over we'll then discuss how you’re feeling. Please allow an additional 30 to 45 minutes during your session for dressing, set-up, health history, and packing. If there is more than one session, allow another 15 to 20 minutes between each session.

08. Must I be completely undressed? 

For Sports & Youth Athletic Massage, Thai Massage, Active Stretch & Release, PNF Stretching, Shiatsu & Orthopedic Massage we recommend sport atire such as spandex or yoga pants and sports bras / tank tops as these modaitiies use streching techniques.

For Relaxation  Pregnancy ,Therapeutic Deep Tissue ,Lymphatic Detox ,Hot Stone ,MyoFascia Release massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.

If you opt for chair massage,  Reflexology or  Reiki & Chakra Balaning only, you may remain fully clothed for these session

09. What is your cancellation policy for Corporate Events and Programs?  

  • Cancellations made outside of 72 hours prior to our scheduled visit will be eligible for a 75% deposit refund.

  • Cancellations 48 hours prior to our scheduled visit are eligible for a 50% deposit refund.

  • There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 48hours before a scheduled visit.
